Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Taskli ("Taskli", "we", "us", or "our") and govern your access to and use of the Taskli iOS app and the website at taskli.app (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility & family accounts

• To create a parent account, you must be an adult of the age of majority in your country of residence and able to enter into a binding contract.
• Taskli is built for families. Child accounts are created by invitation from a parent. By inviting a child and setting up their account, the parent confirms they have parental responsibility for that child and consents to their use of the Service.
• The inviting parent is responsible for supervising their child's use of the Service and for the child's compliance with these Terms.

3. The Service

Taskli lets parents assign and track tasks, manage an in-app credit and reward system, and motivate children with streaks and achievements. The Service is currently free of charge. The Service may change, contain errors, or be interrupted. We may add, modify, or remove features at any time.

4. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. Notify us at ppa.ilksat@troppus if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

5. In-app credits & rewards

Parents define rewards and approve claims at their discretion. Any real-world arrangement between a parent and a child regarding rewards is a private family matter and is not our responsibility.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose;
• attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours;
• interfere with, disrupt, probe, or overload the Service or its infrastructure;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except as permitted by law;
• upload content that is illegal, infringing, harassing, or harmful to children; or
• use the Service to send spam or to collect data about other users without authorisation.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create in Taskli, such as task names, comments, and reward descriptions ("Content"). You are responsible for your Content and confirm you have the right to share it. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, and process your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you and your family. We do not use your Content for advertising.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties, including Apple (App Store and push notifications) and Cloudflare (hosting and database). Your use of those services is also subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

9. Suspension & termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if necessary to protect the Service or other users. Deleting the last remaining parent account deletes the entire family, including child accounts, as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, availability, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. This does not exclude any warranties or rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including mandatory consumer-protection rights.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Taskli will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Taskli harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

13. Apple App Store terms

Taskli is distributed through the Apple App Store. In addition to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA): these Terms are between you and Taskli only, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product-liability, regulatory, or intellectual-property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

14. Copyright complaints (DMCA)

We respect intellectual-property rights. If you believe content within the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) to ppa.ilksat@troppus including: your contact details, identification of the work and the allegedly infringing material, a statement of good-faith belief, a statement that the information is accurate, and your physical or electronic signature. We may remove infringing content and terminate repeat infringers.

15. Export controls & sanctions

You agree to comply with all applicable export-control and sanctions laws, including those of the United States and the European Union. You may not use the Service if you are located in, or are a national of, a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions, or if you appear on a restricted- or denied-party list.

16. Governing law

If you reside in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or elsewhere outside the United States: these Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and of the member state in which the operator of Taskli is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country in which you reside, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.

If you reside in the United States: these Terms are governed by the laws of the State in which the operator conducts business in the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs section 17.

17. Dispute resolution for U.S. users (arbitration & class-action waiver)

If you are a U.S. resident, you and Taskli agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, not in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. You and Taskli waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class, collective, or representative action. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing ppa.ilksat@troppus within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief for misuse of intellectual property. If any part of this section is found unenforceable, the remainder will still apply — except that the class-action waiver is non-severable.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
